Jay-Z Tops Diddy as Forbes 2018 Wealthiest in Hip Hop

Watch out! A new hip-hop mogul is at the top.
Forbes announced it's annual list of hip-hop's wealthiest in the industry, unveiling music artist and businessman Jay-Z in the No. 1 spot. Jay-Z topped the list with a net worth from $810 million to $900 million, surpassing Sean "Diddy" Combs who held the No. 1 spot for seven years back to back.
This Jay-z's first time making it to the top since Forbes launched the list in 2011. The According to Forbes, the 48 year-old's move was "due mostly to the rising value of his interests in Armand de Brignae champagne and D'Ussé cognac, on top of nine-figure ownership stakes in his Roc Nation empire and Tidal streaming service."

Diddy fell to second place with a net worth of $825 million. Diddy holds a stake in Ciroc vodka. Also, Diddy is the founder of cable television network, Revolt, and has a growing tequila label while partnered with DeLeon tequila company. Dre comes in third with $770 million, boosting up due to Apple's $3 billion purchase of Beats in 2014. Drake and Eminem are tied at No. 4 with $100 million.
