READ: 'Get Out of My Country' Shooter Pleads Guilty, Faces Life Sentence

A kansas man pleaded guilty on Tuesday for the murders of an Indian man and attemptted murder of two others on February 22 of last year.

According to Johnson County District District Attorney Steve Howe, Adam Purinton, 52, pleaded guilty to premeditated first-degree murder and two counts of attempted premeditated first-degree murder for the deadly shooting at Austin's Bar and Grill in Olathe, Kansas.  Under a plea agreement, Purinton will be sentenced in May and will get life in prison.

At the time of the shooting, an affirmed racially charged Purinton shouted "get out of my country" seconds before opening fire.  Purinton shot Srinivas Kuchibhotla, 32, who later died in the hospital.  A friend of Kuchibhotla, Alok Madasani, 32, was also injured but was released from the hospital later that day.  Another man who tried to intervene,  Ian Grillot, was wounded but survived.

According to the Washington Post, in June of last year, "a federal grand jury indicted Purinton on two hate crime charges for killing Kuchibhotla and attempting to kill Madasani." In November, Purinton pleaded not guilty to federal hate crime offenses.  However, the Justice Department has not disclosed if it will proceed with the death sentence.
